ST. MARTINVILLE, Louisiana — The St. Martinville community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Randall P. Belaire, 26, whose life was tragically cut short in a fatal crash on Interstate 55 near Louisiana Highway 442 in Tangipahoa Parish late Friday night.
The Incident
According to the Louisiana State Police, the crash occurred at approximately 11:00 p.m. and involved a 2026 Kia Carnival and a disabled 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer parked on the shoulder with hazard lights activated.
- Randall was an unrestrained rear-seat passenger in the Kia and sustained fatal injuries, pronounced dead at the scene despite emergency responders’ efforts.
- The driver of the Kia, Brianna L. Hutson, 27, of Magnolia, Mississippi, and other passengers suffered minor injuries.
- Hutson displayed signs of impairment and, after medical clearance, was arrested and booked into the Tangipahoa Parish Correctional Facility. She faces charges including vehicular homicide, five counts of vehicular negligent injuring, careless operation, and open container violations.
